Reset Resort

Dating back to the year 630, and with the majestic Mount Chausu towering in the distance to the northwest, Nasu onsen Go (Nasu hot springs village) is surrounded by many historic sites and theme parks, allowing guests a variety of choices on how to spend their time in order to make for an unforgettable experience.
Known as the "Royal resort" due to the presence of a Villa of the imperial family, the alignment of elegant cottages makes it Japan's leading luxury resort. The lush greenery and splendid blue sky surrounding the imperial villa in the Nasu plateau provide a glimpse into the Japan of old days.
According to Mr. Takao Kataoka, the sixth-generation owner of the Sansui Pavilion, "the Nasu Bettei Kai, the annex of this venerable inn" is a truly relaxing experience, and is known as "The Reset Resort".
The 9 guestrooms all have unique room arrangements and interior design, making for an altogether novel concept, where part of the experience lies in the anticipation of choosing in which room to spend the night.

Sono Go, a room full of personality

Sono Go enjoys a unique configuration with the living room leading to the Japanese-style room which in turn looks over the terrace, while the main bedroom is connected to the bath room.
The room is divided in two parts in a unique arrangement, with the bedroom to the left where 3 persons can sleep in comfortable beds, and a Japanese-style room to the right equipped with a Kotatsu (a table with a heated underside to provide warmth during the cold months) imbedded in the floor, a sofa in the living room one step below, and all rooms including the main bedroom have lofty ceilings that give a sense of space and freedom.
The bath situated next to the bedroom has a large window which, when opened, lets in the refreshing winds of the Nasu plateau and the sunshine filtering through the leaves for a very pleasant experience similar to an open-air spa.
The L-shaped bathtub is divided into two depths in order to be enjoyed safely by small children.

Large public baths and private baths in the "Sansui Pavilion" main building

Since private baths are provided in all of the rooms of "Nasu Bettei Kai" and there is no large bath there, guests who want to enjoy the experience of a large common bath can use the baths in the main Pavilion located in front of the" Nasu Bettei Kai".
Besides the two main baths for men and women respectively, there are also three private baths that each show different aspects of the "Sansui Pavilion".
The two private baths called "Man-yo" where hot water is poured from a bamboo pipe into the bathtub, and the peaceful "Shofu" with its grainy wooden walls, are free of charge and can be enjoyed freely when they are not being used.
We highly recommend the unique experience of refreshing yourself in the subdued lights and the fragrance of the Japanese cypress wood of the main bath.
The other private bath, "Goyo" is more spacious than the other private baths, and operates on a paid reservation basis exclusively.

Genuine Japanese food prepared with exclusive ingredients from the Nasu region

The concept behind the cuisine at "Nasu Bettei Kai" is giving priority to the ingredients.
Local production for local consumption comes first and foremost, with organic vegetables and fruits cultivated in the Nasu region, homemade miso paste and locally-produced rice, and these seasonal ingredients take life under the skilled preparation of our Master chef who will provide our guests with a full course of specially-arranged traditional Japanese cuisine served in the individual rooms.
River fish worthy of an altitude resort are beautifully incorporated into appetizers and hors d窶冩euvres, and seasonal vegetables are boiled in colors pleasing to the eye, to be served individually for a feast disposed on simple but elegant tableware.
The soy milk stew pot with Japanese black beef from Nasu served with vegetables has a refined taste, but the most reputed menu is the "Nasu Bettei Kai" which enjoys great popularity among our guests.
The rank certificate of the Japanese beef shows the attention provided to the origin, safety and freshness of the ingredients in order to capture the heart and palate of our gourmet guests with unique savors.

The "Lounge 206" morphs at night into a chic bar with subdued lights and cozy sofas where guests can enjoy drinks in a relaxed atmosphere.
From standard cocktails to more original ones and even rare malts, the well-stocked line-up will satisfy even the most demanding of our guests.
The bartenders converse pleasantly with the guests while preparing the beverages in person and will cater to all our guests窶 needs, so that you can enjoy to your heart's content the luxury and relaxation that a night in Nasu can provide.
